To Prevent Illness and Stay Calm
The media love to focus on the mayhem of the Corona Virus. Quoting “experts” , showing charts and dwelling on the negative. But there is something we can all do to stay as safe as possible and keep sane at the same time and that is to do Tai Chi and Qigong.
In the media we are constantly hearing about people suffering from Stress and Anxiety in the lockdown. A simple answer is Mindfulness in Movement, easier than Meditation Mindfulness but can be just as effective. This is one of the exercises the exercises we showed when teaching Mindfulness in Movement in the Houses of Parliament.
I am sure that you have noticed the numbers of personal trainers who are now teaching their classes online through necessity because they are locked down. But in addition, you have long established online trainers who only teach online to a worldwide audience. People want to train with them so are happy to do it online as they cannot do it in person.
You have probably never seen repulse Monkey done this way before as a simple Qigong exercise. The Kidney is very important in traditional Medicine as it powers the whole energy system of your body.
To be specific the exercise stimulates the Belt Meridian which circles your waist. The Belt meridian is unusual in that most of the energy pathways go either u and down the limbs or body.
Take it nice and slow by not trying to breathe too deeply or doing too many reps. five breaths is more than enough to start with each day, especially if you are doing the exercises i have shown you before in this blog.
This is Exercise number 3 in this Qigong sequence. Whereas the last two exercises ere specific to particular organs this one distributes energy throughout your system. It increases your lung capacity slowly, helps build circulation and distributes oxygen to all of your cells.
Indirectly it also strengthens your immune system.
